IT MUST HAVE SLIPPED MY MIND

     Diplomatic meetings can be the dullest part of being an admiral, but I'm going to
enjoy this one. When the Devore finally reached the Alpha Quadrant, they declared war
on us. Fortunately, we "persuaded" them to surrender in record time, given that we'd
already won against the Borg and the Dominion. 

     Now, they want to play nice. As their ambassador steps off the transporter platform,
sure of his charm, I remember when I had to play nice with *him* to save my ship.

     "Kathryn," Kashyk purrs over my extended hand. "I've missed you."

     "I'm sorry," I reply. "Have we met?"
